LAB UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES



 LAB University of Applied Sciences (also known as LAB University or LAB UAS) is a public university of applied sciences in Finland. It was established in 2020 after the merger of Lahti University of Applied Sciences (LAMK) and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (SAIMIA).


Campuses

LAB University has two main campuses:

  1. Lahti Campus – Located in the city of Lahti.

  2. Lappeenranta Campus – Located in the city of Lappeenranta.


Programs Offered

LAB University offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in English and Finnish in the following areas:

  • Business Administration

  • Engineering (Technology)

Tuition Fees & Scholarships

  • Bachelor’s programs in English: ~ €8,000/year

  • Master’s programs: ~ €9,000/year

  • Early bird and academic scholarships available to reduce fees.

Admission Requirements

For Bachelor’s degree (in English):

  • Completed higher secondary education or equivalent.

  • English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores).

  • Some programs may require entrance exams or interviews.

For Master’s degree:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree.

  • Work experience in the related field.

  • English proficiency proof.


Required Documents

  1. Upper Secondary Degree Certificate (e.g., high school diploma)

    • Include an official translation in English, Finnish, or Swedish if the original isn’t in one of these languages 

  2. Transcript of Records (with graduation or predicted grades)

    • Include language test scores and a verification of the grading scale, if not already in the transcript 

  3. Language Proficiency Certificate (if required)

    • Acceptable tests include:

      • IELTS Academic: ≥ 6.0 overall (bands ≥ 5.5)

      • TOEFL iBT: ≥ 80 overall (writing ≥ 20)

      • PTE Academic: ≥ 54

  4. Copy of Passport ID Page

    • Required for identity verification 

  5. Copy of Finnish Residence Permit (if applicable)
