MASSY UNIVERSITY


 Massy University is a major public research university in New Zealand. Officially known as               Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa, established in 1927 as Massey Agricultural College; university-status granted in 1964.It is one of NZ’s largest universities with around 26,500 enrolled students in 2024—roughly half studying via distance learning.

Entry Requirements

Academic

  • Undergraduate: Must hold an accredited secondary school qualification equivalent to New Zealand Year 13.

  • Postgraduate: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline. Some programs may require specific prerequisites or work experience (e.g., 2 years) 

English Language

  • IELTS Academic 6.0 minimum (often 6.5 for many postgraduate programs) or equivalent PTE/TOEFL scores

Undergraduate (annual, based on 120 credits)

  • Arts: ~NZ$32,280

  • Business & Agriculture: ~NZ$35,900–39,900

  • Science & Design: ~NZ$39,700–39,900

  • Aviation: Up to NZ$106,250 for pilot training in first year

  • Veterinary Science: NZ$56,240–79,450 (years 1–5) depending on stage 

Postgraduate

  • Graduate Certificate: ~NZ$18,400–24,050

  • Graduate Diploma: NZ$32,280–47,030

  • Master’s (coursework or research, 1–2 years): NZ$56,220–70,120 per year

  • PhD (3–4 years): NZ$21,820–37,580 per year (international students pay domestic rate)

    – NZ$2,000 for one semester of coursework-based postgraduate study
